I am so sincerely sorry.
Really, I have no excuse. Except that some things happened that made the blog get away from me, and then, as with many things in life, once I'd begun to neglect it, I had more and more difficulty returning.
I was scared. What was I going to say to you all? How was I going to explain my absence? Could I really make up for three months of no updates?
I'm really not sure. I guess that's up to you all to decide.
I'm also disappointed in myself that I haven't been blogging because I've had an incredibly eventful few months and won't be able to recall it all in retrospect the way I would have if I'd been keeping up with things.
So, here's a very incomplete list of the highlights—both good and bad—of the past three months:
- I broke my foot. "Ouch" doesn't even begin to describe it.
- Subsequently, I hobbled around in a walking cast for nine weeks.
- That means that for about 12 straight weeks, I pouted and felt sorry for myself and my foot. (Oh, yeah. It was broken for three weeks before I went to an orthopaedic physician and got an x-ray.)
- I started back at my second year of grad school.
- I returned to my "normal," non-internship job.
- Fiance and I had season tickets to all the home football games for my grad school, including a game on December 4, where we sat outside in the heavily falling snow for more than five hours.
- We got pumpkins and I attempted to navigate a corn maze in my boot. Not my best life choice ever.
- We celebrated Fiance's birthday.
- I was a very supportive fiancee and tagged along at numerous events for the bands Fiance teaches.
- We had our engagement photos taken.
- My bridesmaids and I continued the search for bridesmaid dresses.
- I also shopped for bridesmaids dresses for Bridesmaid C.'s own wedding.
- I struggled (and am still struggling) with the recent passing of my amazing cousin, Jeff, who fought cancer for 21 months and is now at home with the Lord.
- I spent some quality time with family over Thanksgiving, despite some of that time taking place at Jeff's memorial service.
- I wrapped up a quarter of grad school, which means I'm 67% through to my master's.
- I am so ready (and not ready) for Christmas.
And even worse? I've missed out on all of your blogs and lives for three months, too. Which means I better start reading!
[This post was brought to you in part by my good friend, Emily, who has been not-so-subtly hinting that I get my butt back into blogging mode. Thanks, Em!]

ReplyDeleteGlad you're back! I was wondering where you'd been! I'm sorry about your foot.
ReplyDeleteCan't wait to hear more about the wedding plans
I agree, I'm glad to see you back. Don't worry about not being here, it's just good that you started. I find that I'm having trouble writing as consistently as I once was. I can't believe how busy your life has been!
