The Honeymoon Reveal!

Last week, I left you with as teaser about our official honeymoon destination. And because I know you're anxiously awaiting an update (riiight), I'll finally kill the suspense:

We're going to...Hawaii!!! The island of Maui, to be specific.

A few of you guessed it (nice job, Divine Mrs D and D. Marie). And don't worry, I'm not claiming to be creative on this one. What I am, though, is incredibly excited.

Fiance and I have been talking about wanting to go to Hawaii together since, well, since before he was "Fiance" and was still "Boyfriend." So, when we got engaged, it was pretty easy to decide where we wanted to go to on our honeymoon.

Tropical. Romantic. Somewhere neither of us has ever been. Perfect.

Recently, as the "year away" mark approached, this whole wedding + honeymoon stuff got a little more serious, and Fiance and I were antsy to get some concrete travel plans, despite how much fun it is to simply dream about a Hawaiian honeymoon.

My future mother-in-law got us in touch with a woman in one of her church groups who is a travel agent, and Fiance and I went to see her a couple of weeks ago. We told her our ideas and our budget, and thank goodness...she was totally on board. In fact, she said we were right on track.

We still have plenty of time to plan, which is nice because right now my biggest request is that I get to wear a lei upon arrival. And...that's why we have a travel agent.

As I type this, she's currently checking out deals and researching the best hotels/resorts for us based on our preferences. And in the meantime, we've been tasked with thinking of which fun excursions we'd like to partake in while there. There are so many amazing choices: helicopter rides, snorkeling, luaus, sunset cruises. I've already promised Fiance that I'll take a surfing lesson with him(!).

Fiance also wants to buy a Hawaiian shirt while we're there. I think I'm going to be so giddy with happiness over the fact that he'll be "Husband" and I'll be "Wife" by then that I won't even try to stop him.

Mmm, Hawaii. *happy sigh.*

Like I really need something else to daydream about in addition to the wedding, right?
