The concert last night was amazing. Great music, entertaining performances, awesome evening with Fiance.
Of course, there's a price to pay for partying on a weeknight: I. Am. Exhausted.
My morning has been moving in complete slow motion. I can't even count how many times I've found myself spaced out, just staring at my computer screen. And that was with coffee this morning. It's bad.
Speaking of dozing at my desk, I was searching online for a good image to match my mood when I came across a crazy new spa offering: powernaps. More specifically, Yelonaps.
There's a place in New York called YeloSpa, which was designed to be "a sanctuary to help urbanites deal with the pressures of modern life through a unique combination of spa and wellness treatments." And apparently, one of the pressures of urban life is sleep-deprivation. Enter the Yelonap.

Here's how the YeloSpa describes this new treatment: "Your session takes place in a cocoon-like treatment room called the YeloCab where you can completely customize your aromatherapy, sound and lighting. Lay back in the zero-gravity experience YeloChair where your knees are lifted above your chest allowing your heart rate to slow down. This helps to induce a deep state of relaxation." Okay, let's be honest. It sounds amazing. But...seriously? People do this? I haven't yet told you that naps from 20 to 40 minutes in length cost from $15 to $28. Even more if you throw in a massage(!).
So as refreshing as a midday or lunch-hour nap sounds—I don't think I could pay for something I could do curled up under my desk anyway (not that I'd actually do that). And the concept of hallways full of clients sleeping in isolated rooms (YeloCabs) is a little too creepy and sci-fi for me.
How do you fight the workday fog? Would you try out a Yelonap?

I'm not sure what to think of this, to be honest!!! I think it's kinda cool if you're a rich executive... but I'm not, so it would just be a ridiculous waste of money if I did it.
ReplyDeleteAhahaha this cracked me up. Great find! But yeah, as gringationcancun said, great for a rich exec. I can actually sleep by the time I get home from work all.by.myself.
ReplyDeleteLoved the title though.
Dude, that sounds awesome. But I've curled up in the back of my Xterra on my lunchbreak more than once, and it was free. :)
ReplyDeleteAre you kidding! I would never pay that much for a nap. But honestly I've been sleeping so crap lately. Being a bee has me waking up in the middle of the night, wondering if any of my posts have gone up and what people are saying about them. Ugh. So during the day I caffeine overload to the extreme!
ReplyDeleteNow I've seen it all! There are oxygen bars all over the country. We used to have one in our mall. You pay a fortune to go in and breathe. It's supposed to make you feel better...inhaling this oxygen, but I'm thinking a lot of it is psychosomatic.
